IAS Officers to Learn GST

After a decade finally GST implemented on the midnight of 30th June. GST implemented after many amendments. It has been a hard work of the government in the amendment of GST. Things have very easy by simple taxation system. IAS officers of batch 2015 have asked for deputation to the Centre beginning of three months to focus their energy on learning about the Goods and Services Tax and helping in its smooth implementation.

There will be seminar in which honourable PM Narendra Modi will address message to the IAS officers on Monday. The first three month of GST era will be challenging for the authorities, industries and many people. IAS officers will be witnessing on the period of transition during the stint of various department.   

There is a report that the Assistant Secretaries during the deputation period will be given an intensive exposure on GST with particular reference to CBEC system named as SAKSHAM/IT, Rules and Regulations, Constitutional Amendments, Working of GST Council, GSTN and coordination between Centre and States.

Special sessions will be conducted by the Department of Revenue in coordination with DoPT for this purpose. Also the department said that work should be allocated to the assistant secretaries in a manner so as to ensure “they are fully engaged throughout the deputation period and develop a work culture to complete assigned tasks in time”.

 Since, of the ministries are already taking action for smooth implementation of GST in their area of work.GST system make system more technological by promoting GSP and ASP services and will raise Digital transactions and things  moving towards cashless economy will be the other areas of emphasis for the assistant secretaries. Since the government has taken many steps regarding, Aadhaar Enabled Payment Systems and BHIM app there will be holding of special sessions for these IAS officers on United Payments Interface
